Hard cases made of synthetic or man-made materials generally hold an internal environment better than a wooden case or a gig-bag. A basic rule is 1 to 2 Boveda for smaller wooden instruments or electric wooden instruments with a solid or semi-hollow body and 4 Boveda for larger wooden instruments.

I use these for both acoustic and electric guitars and am totally satisfied. I get three to six months out of the packs on acoustics (in AZ), and replace them when the feel starts to harden up. The ones that are less hardened I put together in the re-sealing bag and they soften up and I use them in electric cases that don’t close as tightly until they start to harden up then pitch them.
